About this build.
This commercial retail rebuild in Placerville, in El Dorado County, California, brought a 10,000-square-foot store from total fire loss back to full operational recovery, completed by Burton Builders in 2025. After the fire, what remained was a shell — so the team carried out a ground-up reconstruction: full structural framing replacement, all-new electrical, mechanical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, and a complete fire-life-safety upgrade brought fully up to current code. Exterior repairs, ADA accessibility upgrades, and site improvements rounded out the scope.
Inside, a full interior reconstruction delivered a bright, efficient sales floor finished for commercial use — polished concrete floors, a clean white acoustic-tile ceiling washed in continuous LED strip lighting, and crisp white walls banded with a deep forest-green accent that carries onto the exposed structural columns. A wall of storefront glazing pulls in daylight, illuminated exits and panic-hardware egress doors keep the space code-compliant, and new ADA-accessible restrooms complete a modernized building rebuilt for long-term performance.
