Information you submit to us

When you fill out the contact form on this site, you provide your name, email, phone number, and details about your project. The form is processed by our own server and delivered to our team by email using Resend, an email-delivery service. To prevent spam, the form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, a privacy-focused alternative to CAPTCHAs that checks you're a real person without tracking you across the web. We use the information you submit solely to respond to your inquiry. We do not sell it or share it with marketers.

Phone calls and text messages

If you give us your phone number, you agree that Burton Builders may contact you by phone, text message, or email about your inquiry and project. You can tell us at any time that you'd prefer not to receive texts or calls, and we'll stop. We use your phone number only to communicate with you about your project — we do not sell it or share it with third parties or affiliates for their own marketing purposes.

Information collected automatically

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how people find and use this site, but only if you opt in. When you first visit, a banner asks for your consent — a single choice that governs both analytics and video playback in our Instagram feed (see "Embedded Instagram content" below). Google Analytics does not load and collects nothing unless you click "Accept" — if you decline or ignore the banner, no analytics data is ever sent.

If you do opt in, Google Analytics collects anonymized data such as the pages you view, your approximate location (city level, derived from IP), the device and browser you're using, and the site or search query that referred you. IP addresses are not stored. We use this data only to improve the site — never to identify individual visitors.

You can change your mind at any time using the "Privacy choices" link in the footer of every page, which shows the consent banner again. You can also clear this site's data in your browser, enable your browser's tracking-protection feature, or install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Embedded Instagram content

Our site shows feeds of our Instagram posts, provided by Behold, a privacy-focused embedding service. Photos and video thumbnails are served from Behold's own CDN — not from Instagram — and the feed sets no cookies and loads no third-party scripts, pixels, or analytics on our pages. Unless you opt in to video playback (below), the feed contains no videos, and viewing it — including opening its photo galleries — makes no requests to Instagram or any other Meta service. Behold acts as our service provider; its handling of these requests is described in Behold's privacy policy.

If you accept the consent banner, video playback is enabled in the feed. Videos and video previews — including previews that play when you hover over a post — then stream directly from Instagram's (Meta's) servers, which means Meta receives your IP address and browser information whenever the video-enabled feed is shown. If you decline or make no choice, the feed stays photos-only and nothing on this site contacts Meta. You can change this at any time via the "Privacy choices" link in the footer.

Whenever Meta is involved — playing a video after opting in, or clicking through to Instagram itself — Meta's handling of your data is governed by its own Meta Privacy Policy, not by this one.

Cookies

If you opt in to analytics, Google Analytics sets first-party cookies in your browser to recognize repeat visits. These cookies do not contain personal information, and they are never set unless you accept the consent banner. To remember your banner choice, we also store a small flag in your browser — this stays on your device and is not sent to us. The same flag controls Instagram video playback (see "Embedded Instagram content" above), and you can change it anytime via the "Privacy choices" link in the footer.

Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, and the Cloudflare Turnstile anti-spam check on our contact form may set their own cookies that are strictly necessary to keep the site secure and protect it from bots. We do not use cookies for advertising or retargeting, and we do not run third-party tracking pixels. If you opt in via the consent banner, Instagram videos in our feed stream from Meta's servers when you play them — see "Embedded Instagram content" above.

Your rights

California residents have the right under the CCPA/CPRA to know what personal information we collect, request deletion of personal information we hold about you, and opt out of its sale (we do not sell personal information). To make a request, email admin@burtonbuildersllc.com.

We may update this policy as the site evolves. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent change.
